Thomas Chang, CPA, CGMA
Managing Partner, President
Mr. Chang was a Partner at two U.S. regional Certified Public Accountant firms prior to joining JTC. He started his public accounting career in year 2000, and is well-versed in financial statement audit, review, compilation and analysis; tax preparation, planning and compliance for individuals, families, corporations, partnerships and trusts; and international businesses, taxation and capital market operations. He specializes in business, personal and estate tax planning utilizing tax and financial accounting strategies to help his clients achieve their goals.
Mr. Chang was an audit partner of public companies listed in the U.S. stock markets with main operations in the U.S., China, and Taiwan. He supervised audit engagements performed in accordance with the PCAOB Standards, U.S. GAAP, and the SEC rules for IPO, APO, Reverse Merger, and SEC regulatory filing engagements.
Mr. Chang was also a Vice President of Enterprise Risk Assessment at Bank of America, N.A., where he analyzed sophisticated technical accounting issues and identified risks associated with mortgage servicing rights, retained interests, securitizations, and loan loss reserves.
Mr. Chang accumulated considerable experience in complex technical accounting topics when he served at the audit practice of KPMG LLP in Los Angeles. He specialized in financial statement audits and reviews of Form 10-K and 10-Q for SEC reporting, Sarbanes-Oxley Act Section 404 audits, HUD and USAP audits and other assurance services with industry expertise in financial services.
Mr. Chang started his career with the audit practice at Deloitte & Touche, LLP (formerly T N Soong, LLP) in Taipei, Taiwan, and was substantially involved in auditing public companies listed at the Taiwan Stock Exchange in various industries, including financial services, manufacturing, broker-dealer, hotel, construction, and high-tech.
Mr. Chang received a Master of Accounting degree from the Ross Business School at the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor. He graduated with School Honor from National Taipei University, Taiwan with a Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
James Tseng, CPA
Partner, Branch Director (Temple City Office)
Mr. Tseng is responsible for audit and review engagements. He was an audit partner of Ernest & Young in Taipei, Taiwan. He has more than 20 years of working experience at the Big 4 accounting firms in Taiwan where he accumulated extensive audit, review and other professional accounting experiences in multi-national public and private companies. He also had 2 years of working experience at a regional accounting firm in the U.S. He specializes in the financial statement audit of international companies, consulting, and merger & acquisition.
Mr. Tseng is a Certified Public Accountant in the State of California. He received a Master of Accounting and Bachelor's degree in Accounting from University of Southern California, and an EMBA degree from National Taiwan University in Taiwan.
Kathy L. Oike, E.A.
Mrs. Oike has been with the firm since 1987 and is an Enrolled Agent (non-practicing) with the IRS. She began her accounting career after graduating from Soochow University in Taipei, Taiwan with a Bachelor’s degree in accounting. Her emphasis has been helping domestic and multi-national businesses, as well as individual clients with a wide range of consulting, planning, accounting, and tax issues, including international businesses with U.S. or foreign subsidiaries, multi-state businesses, and new immigrants to the U.S. She is well experienced in income tax preparation, sales tax preparation, expatriate tax preparation, bookkeeping, financial statement compilation, and accounting and business consulting. Mrs. Oike has been a key member of our firm and a longtime tax and business consultant to many of our clients.
Sophia N. Ping, CPA
Partner, Branch Director (Upland Office)
Ms. Ping is a member of the AICPA and the California Society of CPAs. She holds a Master of Accountancy degree from the George Washington University. She graduated from Soochow University in Suzhou, China with a Bachelor's degree in accountancy. Before joining JTC, Ms. Ping started her career as an audit associate working with Mr. Chang at another U.S. regional Certified Public Accounting firm specialized in audit, advisory, accounting, and tax services for multi-national companies publicly traded in the U.S. capital markets. Ms. Ping has gained extensive experience in financial statement audits and reviews for SEC reporting and the IPO process for going public.
Ms. Ping is also well experienced in income tax preparation, sales tax preparation, bookkeeping, as well as tax planning and business consulting for a wide range of clients, including individuals, new immigrants to the U.S., trusts and estates, and multi-state businesses. Throughout her accounting profession career, Ms. Ping has established a sound reputation in providing quality and timely services to a broad spectrum of clients.
Howard H. Wang, CPA
Partner, Branch Director (Monterey Park Office)
Mr. Wang has more than 17 years of experience working with companies in financial institutions, professional services, manufacturing and distribution, technology, and wholesale. He specializes in tax and accounting of foreign-owned or affiliated U.S. corporations and entrepreneur-owned private companies. He also has extensive experience in providing advisory services on SEC reporting, internal controls, IPO in U.S. capital markets, mergers and acquisitions, international tax planning, and multistate tax issues. His prior experience includes working in regional accounting firms as Manager and multi-million-dollar company as Financial Reporting Manager. He also worked at the Taipei Exchange (TPEx), one of the two primary stock exchanges in Taiwan as Specialist.
Mr. Wang is a Certified Public Accountant in the State of California. He received a Master of Science in Accountancy degree from National Cheng Chi University in Taiwan. He is a member of the AICPA and the California Society of CPAs.
